Carbon boy’s wrestling headed to Panguitch over the weekend for a two-day tournament where 29 schools participated from Utah, Arizona, and Nevada. Carbon earned a seventh-place finish in team scoring.

Host team Panguitch landed in the top spot scoring 693.5 points, Crimson Cliffs landed in second with 580.5. San Juan (523.5), Cedar City (497.0), and Emery (453.0) made up the top five. Carbon took seventh with 416.0.

Jantz Greenhalgh at 106 pounds went undefeated at 7-0 earning first place in his weight class, after a first-round bye he would run the table, earning first place with the win over Panguitch’s Mitch Dodds by pin. Ashdyn Densley went 8-1 with his only loss coming at the hands of his teammate Greenhalgh, Densley would finish in third place in the 106-pound class.  Kayden Smith ended his weekend in fourth in the 113-pound weight class, with a 4-3 overall record, taking a loss in the third place match to Emery’s Ty Christiansen. 

Gavin Fausett earned a seventh-place finish at 175 pounds going 6-2, and Jared Simmons ended the weekend with an eighth-place finish at 285 going 4-4. Teegan Robinson went 5-2 finishing ninth in the 113 weight class, and Gage Leffler also earned a ninth-place finish at 120 pounds going 6-2.

The boys will get back at it on Wednesday when they travel to Cedar Valley.
