The Lady Dino wrestling squad took part in the Skyhawk Showdown in Payson. With over 35 teams taking part, Carbon was able to secure tenth place overall in the two-day tournament.
Central Grand Junction out of Colorado earned the top spot scoring 386.0 points, and Wasatch finished second with 289.0. Grantsville (279.0), Cedar Valley (257.0), and Salem Hills (253.0) rounded out the top five. Carbon scored 163.0 to land in tenth.
Madison Arroyo at 190 pounds was the top finisher for the Lady Dinos claiming third place going 6-1 over the weekend and claiming victory in the third-place match over Kira Hart of Grantsville. Kallie Leffler takes fifth in the 105-pound class going 4-2 and defeating Jaskin Hair of the American Leadership Academy, and Emma Parker goes 4-2 in the 130-pound class with a win by decision over Amberly Howe of Wasatch.
On Wednesday, the Lady Dinos welcome in American Leadership and North Sanpete to the gym at Carbon High.
Varsity matches will start at 7:00 p.m..
