
Friday night, the Panthers traveled to Altamont to face the Longhorns. Pinnacle entered the contest on a three-game losing streak, and a road trip on Friday the 13th didn’t help. In a game that was close until the end, Altamont edged the Panthers by nine, 48-37.
Coming off losses against American Leadership, Water Canyon, and Escalante the Panthers will be looking forward to the Winter Classic at home later this week.
The first quarter was all about the Longhorns, who came out and doubled up the Panthers 12-6. In the second, Pinnacle found their offense adding 12 points to their score, however, Altamont scored 15 to take a 27-18 lead into the locker room at halftime.
The Longhorns owned the third quarter as well once again doubling up the Panthers 14-7 building on their lead going into the final eight minutes with a 41-25 lead. Pinnacle had one last chance and put together a run outscoring Altamont 12-7, but it was too little too late and the Panthers would lose their fourth straight 48-37.
Brody Howell led all scorers with 13 for Pinnacle. Joey Howell added eight and Dominick Vigil scored five in the loss.
The Panthers will get back on the floor at home on Tuesday when they welcome the Utah Military Academy Hill Field Thunderbirds.
