
Last weekend, the Carbon Dino wrestlers went to Herriman for the annual Christmas Clash Tournament. With over 60 schools participating in both boys’ and girls’ divisions, it is one of the biggest of the year. The boys’ team finished in 16th place out of 48, and, the girls ended in 37th out of 68.
On the boy’s side Jantz Greenhalgh at 106 pounds and Riker O’Hearon at 138 pounds each claimed a second-place finish in their respective divisions. Ashdyn Densley earned a fourth-place finish at 106 pounds as well.
Greenhalgh made it to the first-place match against Kaden Oldroyd of Westlake losing the match by technical fall. O’Hearon climbed his way to the first-place match against Connor Knudsen of Timpanogos, and the two would go back and forth, with Knudsen taking a win by ultimate tiebreak.
Densley made it to the third-place match taking on Cole Younger of Marsh Valley, with Densley coming up short dropping the match by technical fall.
The Lady Dinos had four wrestlers take part in the event: Rickelle Collins would finish 4-2 at 170 pounds, and Kallie Lefler went 2-2 at 100 pounds. Farrah Parker finished 1-2 at 120 pounds and Emma Parker went 1-2 at 120 pounds.
Both teams will be back on the mats Friday and Saturday when they will travel to Nephi for the Beehive Invitational.
