The Carbon boys’ and girls’ wrestling squads competed over the weekend in Nephi at the Beehive Invitational.  Three boys and five Lady Dinos took part in the tournament that took place during the Christmas break.

The Dino Boys finished 19th out of 49 teams that competed from across the state. Jantz Greenhalgh finished in second at 106 pounds going 2-1 falling just short in the first-place match with Juab’s Trevor Cowan by a 10-4 decision. Ashdyn Densley, also at 106 pounds ended his day with a 2-3 record falling in the fifth-place match with Trayl Moat of Millard to finish in sixth.

The Lady Dinos ended in 25th place out of 42 teams. Kallie Leffler at 100 pounds ended 1-3 falling in her fifth-place match with Alicia Hansen from Murray by technical fall. Farrah Parker also earned a sixth-place finish going 0-3 and dropped her fifth-place match to Leah Ivie of Duchesne by pin, and Rickelle Collins was the third Lady Dino to claim sixth place in the 170-pound class going 2-3  falling in her fifth-place match with Brooke Ghering of Springville by pin.

Both teams will be back at it this weekend as the boys head to Richfield for the Winter Classic and the Lady Dinos travel to Roosevelt for the Cougar Classic at Union High School.
