2024 is set to end with a bang, literally, thanks to the American Legion Post 39, which is preparing to host its Red, White and Blue New Year Party on Tuesday, Dec. 31. Post Commander Don Gardner joined Castle Country Radio to preview the event, which will include music, dancing, and fireworks.
“All we’re doing is trying to get our community together and have a social event where people can talk, tell stories and have a good time bringing the New Year in,” explained Gardner. “In the digital age, we tend to talk on the phone or the computer. And this is just a way to get together in person.”
Tickets for the event cost $25 per person or $75 for a family of five. These tickets include access to the event and include a meal.
The funds raised by this party will go to benefit the Post’s Sub for Santa “Combat Santa” initiative. It also benefits veterans across Emery County,” it helps our post immensely. It also helps me get the word out, and we are trying to reach out to all our veterans in our community to find out their needs, see if we can get them any help,” explained Gardner. “ I’m working closely with the State Legion to make sure that we have the resources for our veterans that we can get to them.”
In closing, Gardner simply stated,” Just come out and help us.”
The American Legion Post 39 Red White and Blue New Year Party will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 31 in the Orangeville Community Center located at 85 North Main Street starting at 7 p.m. and running until midnight. Tickets can be purchased here.
