Carbon Boy’s wrestling started on the mat for the New Year making the trip to Richfield for the Utah Winter Classic at the Sevier Valley Center. Over 30 schools took part in the two-day event with the Dinos finishing in tenth place.

Jantz Greenhalgh went a perfect 6-0 in all his matches at 106 pounds earning the top spot by taking the win in the first-place match over Delta’s Kyler Jenkins by decision. Jack Burdick finished the weekend at 5-1 and would go on to take third place at 144 pounds with a win by decision over Cedar Valley’s Adam Mitchell. Eleke Lang at 165 pounds ended in fourth place going 4-2 yet losing in the third place match to Carson Nelson of Delta by technical fall.

At 175 pounds, Gavin Fausett placed fifth going 4-3 earning a win in his fifth-place match over Trent Harris of Springville by pin. Daxtyn Mower finished in eighth place at 215 pounds and Jerron Becker took tenth at 132 pounds.

On Wednesday the Dinos will be on the road taking on the Grantsville Cowboys.
