Wednesday was a very busy day for both Carbon wrestling squads as both the boys and the girls’ teams traveled to face Grantsville, but one member of the team was missing as Riker O’Hearon was at Utah Valley University for the 24th Annual All-Star Duals. The Carbon boys earned a hard-fought 38-35 win while the Lady Dinos fell 60-15. O’Hearon took the victory in his match at The Duals.
The All-Star Duals is where the top wrestlers in all classes of the state are matched up and compete. O’Hearon was matched up with Timpanogos’ Conner Knudsen. O’Hearon would win his match 8-3.
The Carbon boys found wins behind Ashdyn Densley at 106 pounds, Jantz Greenhalgh at 113 pounds, and Jorge (JJ) Munoz at 120 pounds. At 144 pounds Jack Burdick earned a win by pin in his match as would Eleke Lang (165) and Gavin Fausett (175). Trace Crespin at 150 pounds won his match by decision.
The Lady Dinos struggled with Grantsville only earning wins in three of 14 matches on the day.
Kallie Leffler wrestling at 100 pounds earned the win over Rhylee Clark by an 8-6 decision. Alizah Trostle took the victory by pin over Madyson Davis, and Rickelle Collins claimed the win at 190 pounds over Isabela Bates by pin.
The Lady Dinos will be on the mat this weekend for the Rockwell Rumble while the boys’ team takes part in the Tournament of Champions.
