Larry LaVern Young, age 74, passed away at his home in Wellington, Utah on Wednesday, January 8, 2025.

Larry was born on September 9, 1950 in Moab, Utah to parents, LaVern and Ruth Norton Young.

Larry married Peggy Noyes in Craig, Colorado and together they raised three children; Troy, Kelly, and Judy. Larry and Peggy later divorced.

Larry loved the great outdoors. He enjoyed his time spent hunting, trapping, fishing, camping, and spending time with his family and friends. He spent many hours training several horses throughout his life. Horses were always apart of Larry’s life; there was never a time that Larry did not have at least one horse he was caring for. Larry had so many different passions in life that we could write about for years. He lived his life to the fullest and he taught everyone around him amazing work ethics and life skills. He sure left his mark on this world.

Survived by his son; Kelly (Jody) Young, Wellington, Utah; daughter, Judy Young, Wellington, Utah; brothers, Mickey (Lori) Young and Clark Young; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his parents, LaVern and Ruth Norton Young; and son, Troy Young.

A Celebration of Larry’s Life will take place on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. at Mitchell Funeral Home (233 East Main Street) in Price. The family encourages friends to come and share a memory of Larry that evening. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 6:00 p.m. prior to the service. Per Larry’s wishes; cremation services will follow.
