
Patricia Peterson Behling, age eighty-three (83) returned home to her Heavenly Father January 9, 2025 to join her eternal companion David, her earthly parents and older sister.
Patricia was born October 8, 1941 to Robert E. Lee Peterson and Iris Petty Fullmer. She married David Ferdinand Behling on March 15, 1958. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Temple on June 9, 1962. Pat and David were married 64 years four days when David passed in 2022.
Patricia was born in Los Angeles, California where she attended elementary, junior high and started high school. In 1957, she moved to Emery County where she attended South Emery High School in Ferron, Utah. After Emery County High School was built, she attended night school, graduating with four small children.
Together with David they raised six children, installing a strong work ethic in each of them.
In 1988, when she could no longer buy a spool of thread in Ferron, she opened Pat’s Sew ‘N Stuff which she operated for over 30 years. For many years, with the support and help of David, they were vendors at numerous craft shows in Utah and Colorado.
Patricia was active in the community serving as secretary, vice-captain and captain of the Ferron Camp; vice-president and president of the Emery County Camp of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 42 and a member and avid supporter of various local quilt guilds. Pat served on the Emery County 4-H Council for over 25 years as well as being a club leader. She was the State Director/Historian for the Utah High School Rodeo Association for 16 years and attended numerous local, state and national high school rodeos.
Pat was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in the Relief Society, Primary and Sunday School. She will be sorely missed by her family and a community of friends.
Survived by her children, Thomas David (Catherine Jean), California; Kenneth Robert (Sally Lynn), California; Kalynn Fail (Bradley Vaughn), Castle Dale; Michael Allen (Kaylene), Ferron; Jodi Lea Wells (Eric Dan), Riverton; Brandon D. (Barbara Jane), Cleveland; eighteen grandchildren, thirty-five great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, brother, Gary Peterson, California; step-siblings Gary Cordon (Ann), California; and Deb Madrigal (Diego), California.
Preceded in death by her parents; step-parents, Rose Peterson and Gene Fullmer; in-laws, John and Ruby Behling; sister, Deanna Diener; and sister-in-law, Kathy Peterson.
Funeral service, Friday, January 17, 2025, 11:00 a.m., Millsite Ward Chapel (35 West 200 North in Ferron) where the family will receive friends beginning at 9:30 a.m. Internment, Ferron City Cemetery.
