The Lady Spartans were looking to even up their overall record on Tuesday night when the Juab Wasps came to town. The second and fourth quarters were big for Emery, who used them to get to 8-8 this season with a 48-36 win.

Emery is holding on to the No. 8 spot in the latest RPI and sits at 5-2 in Region 12 play with the win.

Coming out in the first quarter neither team looked to assert itself as Emery would hold a one-point advantage going to the second 9-8. The Lady Spartans were a bit more aggressive than the Wasps in the period and did enough defensively to add to their lead of 21-15 headed to the locker room at halftime.

The third quarter was a carbon copy of the first, with the two teams playing almost even as Juab would outscore the Lady Spartans, who would hang on to the slight edge 32-28 heading to the fourth. Emery came out in the final period looking to close out Juab and that they did, putting up 16 and earning their fifth Region 12 win 48-36.

Katelyn Nielson once again came up big for the Spartans scoring 18 and pulling down nine rebounds. Kali Jensen had an outstanding game scoring 11 but filling her stat sheet with three rebounds, four assists, and six steals, and Kaybree Gordon scored six with six boards and a pair of steals.

Emery will be back at in on Thursday when they will travel to take on the Delta Rabbits.
