
On Thursday night the Juab Wasps came to the gym at Catbon High School for a Region 12 matchup with the Lady Dinos. Carbon held a four-point lead going into the final eight minutes, the Lady Dinos could only manage six points and were outscored by Juab who handed Carbon their 13 loss of the season.
In the first quarter, each team came out wanting to assert their dominance as they went back-and-forth and Juab would hold a four-point advantage heading into the second quarter 18-14. The next period was even on both sides as both teams scored ten points, and the four-point advantage would remain for the Wasps headed to the locker room at halftime.
In the third, the Lady Dinos were on fire offensively putting up 17 in the period, and then would hold Juab to 9 points defensively and took a lead 41-37 as the teams went to the final eight minutes. In the fourth, things fell apart for the Lady Dinos as they could only manage six points in the quarter and Juab added 13 to regain the lead and get the win 50-47.
Sage Vea led Carbon with 11 in the contest, Jacie Jensen also scored 11, and Madi Ferguson had 10 in the loss.
The Lady Dinos will be on the court on Tuesday when they travel to Delta to face the Rabbits.
