
The Carbon boy’s wrestling team hosted back-to-back events to close the regular season. On Wednesday they earned a win over the Richfield Wildcats and followed that up with a win Thursday over North Sanpete.
The wrestling regular season ended on Thursday evening, and now the Dinos will await the Divisional round, which will take place on January 31 and February 1 at Juab High School in Nephi.
On Wednesday, the Dinos defended the mats with a 49-22 team win. Coming off a big win over Emery, Carbon was ready for the Wildcats with wins from Jantz Greenhalgh at 106 pounds, Jarron Becker (126), Koen Labrum (132), Riker O’Hearon (138), Jack Burdick (144), Trace Crespin (150), Eleke Lang (165), Gavin Fausett (175), and Andrew Kifer (190).
Thursday night, the North Sanpete Hawks Came to town, and once again, the Dinos won big, 59-16.
Greenhalgh would take the victory once again at 106 pounds. The next three weight classes were losses for the Dinos, and after that, it was all Carbon as they claimed wins in the remainder of the matches with the Dinos collecting 11 wins in the 14 matches.
Up next for the Dinos is a trip to Nephi for the Divisional round of the postseason on January 31 and February 1. After that, it will be the State Wrestling Championships that will take place on February 13 & 14 at Utah Valley University.
