With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Michael J. DeCaro, who left this world surrounded by the love of his family and friends after a valiant year long fight with brain cancer.

Mike was born May 23, 1956 to Carmel and Merlene DeCaro, the eldest of their four children.

He was a natural athlete from a young age. His abilities in sports like baseball and golf were evident early on and he carried his love for competition into adulthood, enjoying many seasons playing in adult league softball.  Mike’s professional journey was as varied as his interests.  He explored numerous roles before finding his calling in sales.  He dedicated many years working for Tony Basso and AutoFarm where he honed his skills and built lasting relationships.  Later driven by an entrepreneurial spirit, Mike founded several businesses, most notably “Mike’s Cumberland Sheds.” His business philosophy was simple but effective: “Buy, sell and trade”. Known for his humor, Mike was always ready with a quick jest to lighten the mood. He found joy in cooking, hunting and fishing.  Mike was an animal lover, dedicating time to care for his pets, which brought him immense joy.  His love for trucks was well known, often seen with a new model that he would proudly show off.  Mike loved everything about Christmas, decorating his home, making and sharing delicious food, and buying thoughtful gifts for his family, friends and neighbors.  His generosity was boundless, reflecting his loving nature.  Michael DeCaro will be deeply missed by his siblings, extended family, and friends.

Rest in peace Mike, your memory will forever be cherished.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Pinnacle Care and Rehabilitation, Castleview Hospital, CNS, Dr. Gagon, Dr. Etzel, Perky Travels, Tony Basso-longtime friend, and his beloved neighbors of Dover Circle.
