With four games left in the regular season, the Lady Dinos headed to Manti to take on the Templars in a region tilt. This would be the second and final meeting of the two teams before the postseason, and the result was the same as the first as Manti handed Carbon a 56-32 loss.
In December, before Christmas break, the Templars came to Price and won 51-32. The Lady Dinos are 5-15 with a 3-8 overall record and are No.14 in the latest RPI rankings, with the regular season ending next Friday.
The Templars came out and won this contest in the first quarter, outscoring the Lady Dinos 20-2, after that the remainder of the game was relatively close with Carbon matching Manti in the second quarter as each team would score 10, but the Templars still held the lead at halftime, 30-12.
In the second half, Carbon tried to slowly chip away at the Templar lead but could only make up a little ground in the third cutting the Manti lead to 14 at 37-23. In the final eight minutes, it became apparent that the Templars coasted through the third because they came back and held the Lady Dinos to just nine points and added 19 to their side of the scoreboard closing out Carbon 56-32.
Malia Smith led the Dinos with nine points, Bailey Curtis added seven and Blythe Bradford had four in the loss.
Next up is Rivalry Week Part 2 as the Lady Dinos will welcome the Lady Spartans to Jurassic Park on Thursday. Just three weeks ago the Lady Dinos found themselves on the losing end of a 58-38 score at the Spartan Center. Emery will enter the contest with an overall record of 11-9 which includes an 8-3 Region 12 mark, they also hold the No. 7 spot in the latest RPI.
