The Lady Spartans welcomed the Canyon View Falcons to the Spartan Center on Tuesday evening. This would be the second and final time these two teams would meet in the regular season, and Emery was looking for a season split having lost the first game. The Lady Spartans exacted their revenge winning at home 59-53.

On December 19, Emery traveled to Cedar City to take on the Falcons and was handed a 62-60 loss. The Lady Spartans are sitting at 11-9 overall and 8-3 in Region 12 play, they also hold the No. 7 spot in the latest RPI rankings.

The opening period saw both teams start fast and trade shots with each other and when it ended the Falcons were on top of the Spartans 18-14. The second quarter had the Spartans create scoring opportunities and put a bit more space between them and the Falcons as Emery would take a 26-25 lead at halftime.

In the third, the Falcons looked to take over the lead from the Lady Spartans who would stay on top of Canyon View outscoring them by a single point headed into the final eight minutes. Emery would dig deep in the fourth looking to maintain their lead and close out the Falcons, and they were able to do just that outscoring Canyon View by four in the quarter and earning the 59-53 win.

Katelyn Nielson led the way once again for the Lady Spartans scoring 16 while grabbing 16 rebounds and adding a pair of assists. Skylee Guymon added 10 with nine boards and two steals, and Megan Stilson had eight with two rebounds and two steals in the win.

Next up is a road contest with the Lady Dinos (5-15, 3-8, No. 14). Back on January 7, Carbon visited the Spartan Center and was handed a 58-38 loss.
