Roy Dee “RD” Campbell, age 89, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at Parkdale Health and Rehab in Price, Utah.

RD was born on August 21, 1935 in Columbia, Utah to Roy Allen and Ella Robbins Campbell. RD spent the first three years of his life living in Columbia and for the remainder of his life he was a lifelong resident of Wellington, Utah.   RD married Peggy Lynn Fiack on December 17, 1969 in Chandler, Arizona. He would later work by her side for 55 years.

RD has dedicated over 50 years to ranching, becoming a pillar in the agricultural community. Beginning his journey with a modest 20 acres, RD’s relentless hard work and strategic vision expanded his operation to an impressive 600 acres of farmland and 1200 acres of summer range for his cattle. His farm produces high-quality hay, produced corn and sugar beets, demonstrating a commitment to excellence in diverse agricultural endeavors.

RD has significantly contributed to his community beyond the boundaries of his farm. He served on the planning and zoning board for many years, helping to shape local policies and development. Additionally, his 20-plus years on the Carbon Canals Water Board underscored his dedication to sustainable water management and agricultural practices.

A devoted family man, RD raised three boys on the farm, instilling in them the values of hard work and dedication. His unwavering support and guidance have been instrumental in their success. RD’s family has been his steadfast support system through the inevitable hardships, droughts, and challenges of farm life.

At 89 years old, RD continued to farm and raise cattle, a testament of his enduring passion and commitment to agriculture. His pure-bred Beef Master cattle are a hallmark of his ranch, reflecting his focus on quality and innovation in livestock breeding. RD’s legacy is one of resilience, community service, and familial dedication.

Survived by his wife, Peggy Lynn; children, Shane R. Campbell, Kathlene (Kelly) O’Fallon, Ray Campbell, Michael D. (Pamela) Campbell, and Daniel R. (Mellissa) Campbell; siblings, Marilyn (John) Reva, and Clayton (Betty) Campbell; and ten grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his parents, Roy Allen and Ella Robbins Campbell; brother, Jerry Campbell; and son, Allen Campbell.

Graveside service, Saturday, February 22, 2025, 11:00 a.m., Wellington City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Mitchell Funeral Home (233 East Main Street) in Price from 9:00 – 10:45 a.m. prior to traveling to Wellington for the Graveside Service.  Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price and Huntington where friends are always welcome daily and may share memories of RD online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net
