It’s with sadness in our hearts we lost a great man, our loving husband, father and amazing grandfather on February 21, 2025 Jerry Wayne Giraud, age 70, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family from a long-time illness.
Jerry was born in Price, Utah on April 5, 1954 to Emil and Lorraine Lampshire Giraud. He grew up in Price learning from his father the family plumbing business. He graduated from Carbon High in 1972 and went on to graduate to become a master plumber.
He married the love of his life Loni Pearson on August 8, 1980 (8-8-80).
Jerry was a skilled man when it came to just about anything from plumbing, mechanical or carpentry. Always with a crescent wrench in his back pocket. If he could not fix it right, he would “Jerry Rig It” and get it working.
Jerry became an owner/operator of several different businesses through his working years from Giraud Plumbing & Heating, Culligan Water (The Culligan Man), Giraud Rentals, and with his wife Giraud Weddings and Rentals. Jerry would also work in the coal mines and Oil Rigs in Carbon, Emery, and Duchesne Counties. He finally ended his working career by retiring from Price City in 2015.
Jerry’s proudest moments in life were first becoming a loving husband, a great father to three children and then becoming an amazing grandfather to four grandchildren. If you knew Jerry you know he was a very quiet person but he taught his kids and grandchildren so many things without saying a word. “It’s what you do, not what you say”. He was his wife and kids’ biggest supporter with anything they did or wanted to do.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Loni Giraud; brothers, Gary (Geri) Giraud, Maple Valley, WA; Mike Giraud, Bountiful, UT; his three children, Jennifer (Dalray) Bradley, Rock Springs, WY; Jeremy Giraud, Price, UT; Joshua (Caitlin) Giraud, Price, UT; and four grandchildren, Mackenzie (Daniel), Serenitie, Felicitie and Oakley.
Jerry was preceded in death by his mother, Lorraine Giraud; father, Emil Giraud; brothers, Greg and James Giraud; brothers-in-law, Allan Pearson, Duane Pearson, and Bill Riddle; grandparents and many aunts and uncles.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the nurses at CNS and Hospice for the compassionate care they provided to Jerry, his good friend Paul Giacoletto for always checking up on Jerry and Mitchell Funeral Home for their care and compassion.
Thank you for everything, we love you Dad!
As per Jerry’s wishes he will be cremated and a Celebration of Life for family and friends will be held at a future date. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price and Huntington where friends are welcome daily and may share memories of Jerry at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net.
