Randy J. Cook was born on October 2, 1958, to Ronald and Carol Cook. He passed away peacefully on February 23, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Randy was married to Colleen McKinnon for 27 years, and together they raised four children, later welcoming 15 grandchildren and joyfully anticipating the arrival of their first great-grandchild. In 2011, he married Cindy Dinkens, and together they shared many adventures, finding happiness in watching their families grow. They remained devoted to each other until the day he passed.

Randy had a deep love for the outdoors, spending much of his life in the mountains hunting, fishing, and cherishing time with his family. His favorite color was the color of his current truck, which in his most recent years it was FIRE RED! He took great joy in taking it off-road and, more often than not, getting it stuck. His motto? “You can get out of anything as long as you have a shovel and a sheepherder’s jack.” The miles he racked up four-wheeling over the years were nothing short of legendary.

Randy had a profound impact on everyone he met. His quick wit and clever quips could lighten any mood, and his laughter was infectious. Even when faced with challenges, he never lost his sense of humor—when asked how he lost his leg, he’d grin and reply, “A shark bit it off,” or “A dog took it.” He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, and to know him was to love him.

He was deeply involved in his community, dedicating countless hours volunteering with the Boy Scouts, coaching youth sports, and umpiring baseball games. An incredible athlete, he excelled in basketball, softball, track, and volleyball. His passion for sports was rivaled only by his dedication to hard work. Randy spent 36 years working in the coal mines, using his skills and ingenuity to solve countless problems. His strong work ethic was an inspiration to his children and grandchildren, teaching them the value of perseverance and dedication.

Randy was preceded in death by his parents, Ron and Carol Cook; and his sister, Renee Cook. He is survived by his loving wife, Cindy Cook; his siblings, Cherie Jolly, Ricky, Roger, and Curtis Cook; his children, Jess (Sara) Cook, Crystal (Grant) Baraclough, Kaz (Morgan) Cook, and Jaci (Colton) Mohr; his beloved grandchildren, Kelby (Anthony) Campbell, Isabell, Brylee, Maylee, Kole, Rhoby, Jaten, Presten, Taylen, Avaree, Donovan, Liam, Thoryan, Judah, and Winter; as well as Cindy’s children and grandchildren.

Randy’s legacy of love, laughter, and adventure will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
