
Delpha Jean Terrell Payne passed away on February 16, 2025 at her home in East Carbon, UT. She was born to Bertie Orr Terrell and Archie Lynson Terrell on February 18, 1946 in Bowie, Texas they then moved to Utah.
She was married three times but found the love of her life (Michael) and they married August 29th, 1998 in Salt Lake City; later moving to East Carbon.
Delpha attended Olympus High and graduated from Skyline High School in the class of 1965 and later attended and graduated from nursing school, where she formed many lifelong friendships.
After years of nursing and care giving, she was one of the co-owners of Children’s Reflections Daycare Center. Delpha’s unwavering love for dogs brought her immense joy and companionship along with camping, fishing and traveling.
She will be fondly remembered for her passion of collecting clothes, paintings, and knickknacks, as well as her fierce and unique individuality, she was kind and caring, and had a wicked sense of humor.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Michael; son, Christopher; sister, Jerry Lynn Gailey; and numerous friends, Suzi, Diane, and Robyn.
Delpha is survived by her son, Anthony Carlson (Ellie); God nieces and nephews, Adam (Megan), Alexis (David), and Ashley (Paul).
We are deeply grateful to Melissa, Delpha’s dedicated caregiver and friend, for her kindness and care over the past five years. Our heartfelt condolences go out to her friends and family. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
