
The winter sports schedule has ended, and now it’s time for spring: baseball, softball, boys’ tennis, soccer, and volleyball, along with girls’ golf and track and field, are ready to go. Baseball winds up on Monday and the week closes with softball and track.
Carbon Dino baseball ended last season 17-9 overall. Entering into the postseason with the No. 3 spot in the RPI, they dropped their play-in round to North Sanpete.
The baseball season will begin on Monday when the Grand Red Devils come to Price. On March 14 and 15, the Dinos will be in Southern Utah for the Pineview Tournament. The season will close on May 3, and the final RPI will be released on May 6. Super-Regionals are set to be played on May 8 and 9. State Tournament Bracket play will be May 12-15, with the Championships being played on May 16 and 17 at Utah Valley University.
Boys’ volleyball hits the court on March 4 when they travel to Ogden—after ending their first season 8-18 and earning the No. 8 spot in the final RPI, at the hands of eventual State Champion Grantsville in the quarterfinals. The season ends on April 29, and the final RPI will be released on April 30 with the first rounds of the State Tournament starting on May 3 at home sites, and closes with the State Championships taking place on May 7 & 8 at Utah Valley University.
Boys’ soccer ended the 2024 season 13-3 overall and held the No. 4 spot in the final RPI, but fell to Juab in the quarterfinals. They will open the season with the Emery Spartans at home on Wednesday, March 5. The first round of the State Tournament will take place at home sites on April 25. The semifinals will be May 9 at Zions Bank Stadium in Herriman, and the final is scheduled for May 10 at America First Field, the home of Real Salt Lake.
On March 6, the girls golf squad gets on the road in Delta at the Sunset View golf course. On March 26, they will welcome the region to the Carbon Country Club. The Region 12 tournament will be at Lakeside golf course on April 28, and the 3A State Championships will also be held at Lakeside on May 7 & 8.
The boys’ tennis team will also start on March 6 when they travel to South Sevier. The Carbon Invitational will be held over two days on March 14 and 15. The region tournament will be held on April 29 and 30. The state play-in round will be May 6, and the 3A State tournament will occur at Liberty Park on May 9 and 10.
The softball team gets underway on Friday, March 7, on the road in Gunnison. They welcome Emery for the first home game on March 11. The following weekend, they travel to St. George for a tournament. The season closes on April 29, and the final RPI reveal is on April 30. State tournament pods begin on May 3, and the State Championships are set for May 8-10 in Spanish Fork.
Track and Field will be the final sport to get rolling on March 8 when they travel to Grand. The annual Farm Bureau Invitational will take place at Carbon on March 15. The Dinos will also host the Eastern Utah Championships on April 18 and the Region 12 Championships on May 7 and 8.
