Pi Day marks the rare holiday when food lovers and mathematicians come together over a love of pie. Truthfully, it’s the only such holiday. At Eastern Utah Community Credit Union, they look to tie this occasion into their philosophy of “People Helping People” through the Pi Day Pie Sale, which raises money for the Angel Tree program.
Sherry Wiscombe from EUCCU joined Castle Country Radio to speak on the event and what it holds in store for participants.
“A lot of our employees have offered to bake pies and bring them in for our Pi Day sale,” explained Wiscombe. “They’ll be in a refrigerated case there. And for your $12 donation per pie, all of that goes to the Angel Tree Program.”
The Angel Tree works to provide Christmas gifts to children across Eastern Utah and the Castle Country who otherwise may not receive many gifts. “It’s a wonderful program,” said Wiscombe.
She continued,” We have a lot of people who have told us what we’re going to be doing and what kind of pies they’re going to have. And we’re going to have a wide variety of pies. I’m actually going to bake a couple of them. I’m going to do an apple pie, and then I’m also going to do a banana cream pie.”
In closing, Wiscombe shared, “Come to EUCCU, check out the pies, talk to our employees, and you’ll get a good feeling. They do go fast, so get there early.”
Eastern Utah Community Credit Unions Pi Day Pie Sale will be held on Friday, March 14, starting at 9 a.m. This event is exclusive to the Price EUCCU branch at 675 East 100 North in Price.
