The Carbon High soccer team was back on the pitch on Friday in Cedar City for another Region 12 match against Canyon View. The Dinos picked up where they left off the last time out, earning a shutout win 3-0.

Opening the season with a win over Emery 7-0, the Dinos faced Canyon View for the first of their two meetings. Last year in the two meetings, Carbon came away with a pair of victories.

In the match with the Falcons, the Dinos displayed their offense and defense. They scored one goal in the first half and defensively held Canyon View scoreless, taking a 1-0 lead to the locker room.

In the second half, the Dino charge continued scoring a pair of goals, and with Cannon Mortensen between the pipes, Carbon cruised to a 3-0 region win to move to 2-0 this season.

Dayton King scored a pair of goals for the Dinos. Logan McEvoy had a goal and an assist, while Case Griffeth and Luke Brady each logged an assist and Mortensen earned his second shut out of the season in the win.

The Dinos return to the field on Wednesday when they travel to North Sanpete for a region tilt with North Sanpete.
