On Tuesday evening, Dino boys’ volleyball was on its home floor for the first time this season when it welcomed the North Sanpete Hawks to Price for a region match. Carbon entered the contest at 1-1 overall, looking to get over .500 this season, but it wasn’t to be as the Hawks handed the Dinos a 3-1 loss.

Carbon opened the season with two games on the road, taking a loss at Ogden and earning their first win against Judge Memorial.

Every set was competitive, as the teams seemed evenly matched. North Sanpete won set number one 25-18, and the Hawks took set two by the same 25-18 score. Carbon would return in the third, finding enough to put them over the top and take a 25-20 win. The Hawks closed out the Dinos in set four by a score of  25-17, taking the 3-1 win and dropping Carbon to 1-2 overall and 1-1 in Region 2 play.

Kyler Orth collected seven blocks and totaled six kills for Carbon. Charles Tima had 14 digs, six kills and four service aces, and Carter Warburton earned six kills in the loss.

Carbon will return this weekend when they travel to American Fork for the American Heritage Tournament on Friday and Saturday.
