
The Emery soccer team welcomed the Canyon View Falcons to Castle Dale on Wednesday. The game was initially scheduled for Tuesday in Cedar City, but due to the weather, it was rescheduled for Wednesday in Castle Dale. The Falcons grabbed an early lead and never looked back, handing the Spartans a 6-0 loss.
The loss drops the Spartans to 1-6 on the season, with the one win coming at Millard’s hands. Emery has struggled offensively through seven games, scoring five goals this season, three of which came in the win.
In the contest with the Falcons, Canyon View scored twice in the opening half, taking a 2-0 lead into halftime. In the second half, they added four more goals, putting the contest out of reach for the Spartans and handing them a 6-0 loss.
Brett Langston scored twice for Canyon View and added one assist.
Emery will return to the field on March 21 when they welcome the Juab Wasps to Castle Dale. Last season, they faced the Wasps three separate times, with Juab coming away with the win in all of them.
