Last weekend, the Carbon Dino boy’s volleyball squad earned top honors in the Small School tournament. They followed that up with a loss to American Heritage on Tuesday. On Thursday, they traveled to face Providence Hall in Herriman. Carbon returned to their winning ways, taking the victory in straight sets 3-0.
Taking first place at the tournament was a massive boost to the two-year-old program, which is looking to continue growing season after season. There was a slight letdown on Tuesday with the loss to American Heritage, but the Dinos were ready to go Thursday.
Carbon came out, closing out the Patriots 25-8. The next set was a bit more competitive, but the Dinos overpowered Providence Hall to take the 25-14 win and go up 2-0. The third and what would be the final set was the closest, and it was a battle, but Carbon did just enough to edge out the Patriots 25-22.
Carter Warburton had seven kills and 10 digs for Carbon. Kyler Orth collected six kills, had four service aces, and three blocks. Grant Mathis had 12 assists in the win.
Carbon will welcome Juan Diego to Price on Tuesday, March 25.
Game time is set for 6:30 p.m..
