Carbon High School senior Cannon Mortensen earned a 3A All-State honorable mention for his basketball performance, it was announced Saturday afternoon.

One of only five seniors on the 2024-25 roster, Mortensen led the team in points per game, averaging 11.1 this past season. His presence was felt on both sides of the floor as he averaged 4.7 rebounds, 1.1 steals, and nearly one block per outing.

The Dinos relied heavily on the versatile big man during a season filled with injuries. Mortensen put together an impressive stretch in which he scored in double figures in seven straight games, including a season-high 22 points in a 61-51 win over Panguitch.

Displaying consistency throughout the 24 games played this season, Mortensen ranked inside the top three of nearly every major statistical category for Carbon, including points, rebounds, assists, steals, blocks, and free throws per game.
