The excitement never ends for the Carbon County Chamber of Commerce. Fresh off the heels of its March luncheon, preparation is underway for the body’s April gathering. Beyond that, the CCCC is plotting their yearly casino night fundraiser. To discuss this and more, Chamber Executive Director Barbie Haeck joined the KOAL Newsroom for a wide-ranging conversation.

First, covering April’s luncheon – which is scheduled for April 17 – Haeck explained,” We’re back at the Country Club, which is super exciting. We haven’t had a luncheon at the Country Club for a while. Our guest speaker in April is Roger Koyle, the regional director for the Small Business Development Center. The topic is, ‘What one man can do, Another can do.'”

Haeck continued,” The business spotlights this month are Angela Murray from Custom Fit and Packard Wholesale. And then our community spotlight is Price City’s Renaissance Festival, which is coming up quickly.”

Registration for April’s event is due by April 11 and costs $25 for nonmembers and $18 for chamber members. Registration is available online at carboncountychamber.net or by phone at 435-637-2788.

Shifting gears, Haeck spoke on the Chamber’s new social media push:” The Office of Tourism got together with Marketing Elevated and did a free social media training. We took advantage of that training, and from that, we have kind of refocused our social media presence. And one of the things we’re trying to incorporate is videos and reels.”

This new emphasis is part of a wider push to help market the many businesses within the Chamber of Commerce,” one of the things that we try to do is we follow all of our members and share what our members are sharing. So, if our members are advertising an event or a special they’re running, we share it.” Adding,” We’re just happy to help businesses promote themselves.”

Another opportunity for businesses to get their names out there is May 9 with the Chamber’s annual casino night. “Casino Night is my favorite event,” said Haeck,” And thanks to Slickenstein Poker, they bring all their dealers and the tables. It’s such a professional outfit, but their dealers are also so kind and helpful. You can purchase tickets for $25 and receive $100 in chips at the door. Or this year, there’s a new golden ticket. You can buy a golden ticket from a chamber member. And it’s $50 for the ticket, and you’ll receive $250 in chips at the door.”

Additionally, various sponsorship packages are available for businesses. ” If you’re interested in being a sponsor, whether it’s donating a prize, you could be a gaming sponsor for $250, or you could be a high-roller sponsor for $500. We are still looking for sponsors. So, reach out if you have any questions at all. Again, it’s 435-637-2788.”
