Coming off back-to-back region wins, the Carbon Dino baseball team traveled to Roosevelt for a non-conference game against the Union Cougars. The Dinos were unable to plate a run, and Union handed them a 10-0 loss.

The Dinos had gotten on track, winning their last two contests, both against Region 12 competition, an 11-4 win over North Sanpete and a 4-2 win over Delta.

Against Union, the Carbon bats were very quiet. Their only hit came in the top of the fourth. With the Cougars up 6-0, Tyrus Madsen came up to the plate and hit a single to left field. Union would add three more in the bottom of the fourth and one more in the bottom of the fifth to close out the Dinos 10-0 in five innings.

Brody Ware started on the mound, going 1.1, giving up four earned runs on two hits. Madsen closed the contest, surrendering six earned runs on seven hits, and struck out four.

The Dinos return to the diamond on Friday when they travel to Delta to face the Rabbits.
