Emery soccer is still searching for its second win of the season. Although it has won one this season, it has been looking to return to the win column ever since. On Wednesday, they traveled to Richfield to face the Wildcats. The Spartans held them to one goal in the first half, but the Wildcats came out scoring three in the second to take the 4-0 win.
Emery collected their only win this season against Millard in St. George during tournament play, 3-1. Since then, they have been searching for another win but have come up short.
Against Richfield, the Spartans held them to a single goal in the first half and went into halftime down 1-0. It was the second half when the Wildcats went to work finding the back of the net three times in this half to hand Emery the 4-0 loss.
Emery slides to 1-8 overall and 0-7 in Region 12 play. They have now reached the halfway point of league play, having played each team once.
They face the 6-1 Carbon Dinos on Friday in Castle Dale. In the season’s first game, Carbon handed Emery a 7-0 loss. Last year, Carbon beat Emery on both occasions, 4-0 in the first game in Price, and then took them to overtime in Castle Dale, losing on penalty kicks, 2-1.
Game time is set for 4:00 p.m..
