The Dino baseball squad traveled to Delta to take on the Rabbits for the second time in a week. The first contest put one in the win column, and on Friday, the venue changed, but the results were the same. Carbon claimed a 3-1 win, moving to 5-8 this season.

Last Tuesday, the Dinos welcomed the Rabbits to Price, and Carbon claimed a 4-2 win. On Friday, they looked to finish the season sweep.

The game on Friday started quietly. In fact, the whole game was very quiet for the Dinos, who were unable to find any offense until the seventh, with Delta up 1-0.

With a pair of outs, the Dinos’ Rydge Butler would cross the plate on a wild pitch to tie the score up at 1-1. Next batter was Maddex Willson, who sent a single to left field, scoring Mike Vigil and Jaxson Bosone before Jordan Nichols was thrown out advancing to second, but Carbon was able to capture the lead, 3-1. The Dinos gave up a pair of singles to the Rabbits in the bottom of the seventh but held them scoreless, going to 3-1 in Region 12 play.

Willson was 2-4 in the game with a pair of RBIs, and Vigil was 1-4 with a run scored for Carbon in the win.

Paxton Falk had a day on the mound, going 6.1 with one earned run on six hits and striking out eight. Vigil came in to close the game with no runs or hits and struck out one.

Although the Carbon district is now on Spring Break, baseball continues. They will face Richfield in Price on Tuesday.

Game time is set for 3:00 p.m..
