Entering its third year in the Castle Country, the Eastern Utah Tattoo Expo is set to return April 25-27. Jeff Holdaway, owner of Limitless Ink Tattoo Shop and one of the expo’s founders, joined the KOAL newsroom to preview the event.

With the expo going into its third year, Holdaway reflected on the growth he’s seen from the show,” it’s grown exponentially in numbers of artists both attending and their interest levels. The community has been great in coming out and supporting the event, which allows it to grow. We’ve gotten great feedback from both members of the community and from members of the artist community. They’re all looking forward to it, man. So it’s been really fun to watch it grow.”

The world of tattoos from the outside seems intimidating, but the expo looks to breakdown the negative stigma surrounding the art. “One of the most exciting aspects of watching the show and being involved with it and getting feedback and stuff is just the opportunity for people to change their perspective and get the exposure to the tattoo industry and realize that some of the negatively associated stigmas just aren’t true.”

As for what outsiders can expect from the event, Holdaway stated,” I mean, the level of talent in these artists – they are at the top of the game, and they are professionals. People can expect quality, professionalism, and just a really good time.”

The expo is still accepting applications from both vendors and artists. To apply, visit easternutahexpo.com. The deadline to submit is Thursday, April 17. Sponsorship opportunities are also available through the website or by contacting Holdaway directly at 435-650-7823.

Without local businesses and individuals, the expo wouldn’t be possible. Holdaway shared a few of the groups who helped to execute this event,” Fifth Avenue Tattoo Supply, the owner’s name is Alan Record, he comes down and enjoys himself, and people enjoy him. I’ve also got Wilco Supply, iGOTPOOP.com and I’d like to shout out to the Carbon County Event Center as well for allowing us to put this show on out there.” He added one final piece of recognition,” the biggest shoutout of all is to all the artists that come out and travel all sorts of distances to come down here and have a good time and showcase what they can do.”

In closing, Holdaway said,” I’m excited to put it on again. I’m excited to see everybody out. I’m excited to see the artists do what they do. It’s just as fun for me to see the artwork being done as it is for people coming out to support the show.”

The Eastern Utah Tattoo Expo will be held at the Carbon County Events Center from Friday, April 25, through Sunday, April 27. More information is available at easternutahexpo.com.
