Golfing is a rare sport that unites both the younger and older generations. The problem that arises, however, is accessibility. Whether it be cost or the inability to secure a tee time, many want to golf, but few can. This is where Elevated Fairways comes in, bringing the golf course to the comfort of your home.
Hyrum Morley, founder of Elevated Fairways, joined the KOAL Newsroom to introduce this business to Castle Country and give a behind-the-scenes look at how the simulators work.
“Elevated Fairways is a commercial golf simulator company where we come to your house or your business, and we set up a golf simulator for your parties or corporate events,” explained Morley. “You can play from dozens of courses on the program and just have fun with your company.”
Many don’t consider entering the golf simulator industry as a career path, but Morley spoke on what inspired him to start this venture: “I’m fascinated with golf. I grew up on a golf course, and I just love it. I’ve always wanted to do something that I enjoy doing, and I want to bring that to others. I’ve had this idea for a couple of years now, and I’m in a spot where this is really becoming a reality, and it’s really exciting.”
The technology behind this business provides a surprisingly simple setup process,” Once you get it scheduled and priced out, then we’ll come to either your business or your house. We’ll set up, there’s the backdrop and the projector screen. It’s a high-impact screen. And there are also some side nets to keep you and your company safe. And there’s a sensor, a computer, and the program that will run the whole thing along with a projector. So, you can see your swing and the golf courses you’re playing on a big screen.”
The simulator program offers a wide variety of golf courses, letting golfers play out their fantasies in some of the sport’s most storied venues.
Speaking on his motivation to open Elevated Fairways, Morley shared,” I really want to bring more happiness here. I always hear, especially from high school and college-aged kids, that there’s hardly anything to do in Carbon and Emery … I really wanted to add to the wide variety of things we can do in Carbon County, but also just build an experiential business that can benefit kids my age because I know that I would definitely use something like this.”
Although still new, Morley is already looking ahead to future business expansion,” essentially, we’ll be providing golf pods. And they’re more private pods that you can rent out per hour. That will be coming this fall with the first bay. And so, what that looks like is you order online and then it will send a code to your phone for the door lock and you go in. And it’s fully automated. You can bring a couple of your friends and have a good time.”
Elevated Fairways can be contacted by phone at 435-630-2860 to book a fairway experience. Orders can also be placed online at elevatedfairways.com. More information is available on social media through the company’s Facebook and Instagram pages.
