Gayland R. Andrews, aged 69, passed away unexpectedly on April 5th, 2025 peacefully at home in Helper, Utah.

He was born on September 8, 1955 in Evanston, Illinois to Emily Pauline Goaltz Wilson and Leland LeRoy Andrews II.

He was a wonderful husband, friend, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.  He loved children and animals.  He especially loved Winston, his son’s dog.  He enjoyed doing puzzles, models, playing pool and Bingo.  He loved to read and spend time with family.  As a truck driver, he has been all over the United States and enjoyed seeing new places and meeting new people.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Leila Andrews; and his children, G. Robert Andrews (Kiana), Brian Andrews (Connie), Michael Andrews (Candyce), and Anna Nichols. He is also survived by two brothers and a sister, Leland L. Andrews of Twain Harte, California, Donald Andrews of Benton, Illinois, and Carol Biggs of Advance, Missouri along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his oldest daughter, Beverly Andrews Dunn; and his parents, Emily Pauline Goaltz Wilson and Leland LeRoy Andrews II.

He will truly be missed by all who knew him.

Funeral service Friday, April 11, 2025, 2:00 p.m., Mitchell Funeral Home (233 East Main St.) in Price where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Mt. View Cemetery in Helper, Utah.
