The Carbon Dino baseball team welcomed the No. 1 team in 3A, the Canyon View Falcons, to Price on Tuesday. It was a defensive battle on both sides, but the Falcons earned a 2-0 win.

The Dinos sit at 6-10 overall and hold the No. 10 spot in the RPI. Carbon has seven games left this season before the playoffs start. Canyon View entered the contest at 12-3 overall and holds the No. 1 spot in the RPI.

The only scoring in the contest came in the first inning, when the Falcons plated a pair of runs to put themselves up 2-0. From the bottom of the first, it became a defensive battle. Canyon View’s pitching only surrendered one hit to Carbon. The Dinos’ defense worked through the remainder of the game, with Stockton Kennedy on the mound, they allowed only five more hits but held the Falcons scoreless.

Maddex Willson had the lone hit for the Carbon, going 1-3 in the game.

Kennedy had a great day on the mound in the loss, with two earned runs on eight hits and struck out two.

The Dinos will return to the diamond on Friday, when they travel to Cedar City to face the Falcons again.
