On Wednesday, the Spartans welcomed the Manti Templars to Castle Dale for the second and final meeting of the regular season. Emery couldn’t break Manti’s defense, and the Templars handed the Spartans a 6-0 loss.
Emery slides 1-12 this season and sits in the No. 17 spot on the latest RPI. Manti, on the other hand, is 10-3 overall and occupies the No. 2 spot.
The Spartans couldn’t find a way to get through the Templars’ defense and had a difficult time keeping Manti off the board in the first half as they took a 2-0 lead by halftime.
The second half was all Templars, as they found the back of the net four times. Emery was also shut out in the second half, as Manti collected the 6-0 win.
James Dettinger and Luis Ornelas each scored a pair of goals for the Templars.
Emery will be on the road for their next two matches. On Friday, they will be in Cedar City to face the Canyon View Falcons, and next week they take on North Sanpete in Mount Pleasant before they end the season on April 17 against Richfield in Castle Dale.
