The Carbon boys’ tennis squad traveled to Delta on Wednesday to face the Rabbits. The Dinos won five matches to earn a 5-1 region win.

The season is winding down, as Carbon has just three non-tournament matches left, at Juab, at Richfield, and home for Union. They will participate in the two-day Uintah Invitational in Vernal before the Region 12 tournament at North Sanpete on April 30.

Nicholas Bryner won his first singles match against Isaac Willoughby in straight sets after a tough first-set win 7-6 (7-2); he cruised in taking the second set 6-2. Memphis Howell won his match against Jaren Dekker 6-2, 6-1, and Zander Carrillo defeated Thomas Nay 6-0, 6-0.

Judson Varner and Josiah Trostle earned a hard-fought win in their first doubles match over Dylan  Moody and John Covey. After dropping the first set 4-6, they came back, winning the next two 6-2 and 6-4. Rylen Hatch and Sylvian Gurule earned a three-set win over Ryan Tolbert and Ryley Dutson, 5- 7, 6-3, and 6-3.

The Dinos travel to Nephi to take on the Juab Wasps on April 15.
