Thursday night, the Dinos boys’ volleyball squad was on the road to take on the Juan Diego Screaming Eagle. Earlier in March, Carbon earned a win at Jurassic Park, and this time, the Dinos were searching for the season sweep. The Dinos shut down Juan Diego early and collected the straight-set win 3-0.

Carbon is 9-5 overall and 5-2 in 3A Region 2 play. They also own the No. 6 spot in the most recent RPI. Carbon has put together five wins in a row and has won seven of its last eight.

The Dinos came out prepared in the first set, taking a 25-11 win over the Screaming Eagle. In the second set, Carbon stayed on the offensive, earning a 25-17 win. Juan Diego put forth their best effort in the third set but still fell short, as Carbon closed them out in three sets, 25-18.

Charles Tima collected nine kills and nine digs to go with three service aces for Carbon. Carter Warburton had eight digs, five kills, and five service aces; Kyler Orth had five kills and three digs. Grant Mathis tallied 13 blocks, and Connor Gleeve had eight assists in the win.

The Dinos travel to Mount Pleasant for the North Sanpete Invitational, where they will play five matches in two days.

They will get back home on April 15 when they face Judge Memorial.
