
Cannon Mortensen posted his record-breaking seventh shutout this season in the 7-0 Dinos win over the Delta Rabbits, moving Carbon to 9-2 overall.
Mortensen has waited since March 28, when Carbon shut out the Emery Spartans. Since then, they have given up one goal to the Canyon View Falcons and lost in their match to the Juab Wasps.
The Dinos still rank second in Region 12 with a 9-2 record and hold the No. 3 spot in the latest RPI ranking.
Carbon scored three goals in the first half, keeping the Rabbits at bay by keeping them off the scoreboard. They repeated their performance in the second half, adding four more to close out Delta and take the 7-0 win.
Luke Brady scored three goals and had an assist for Carbon. Logan McEvoy scored two goals and registered two assists, Lincoln Atwood, Mirza Atkas, and Tayger Timothy each scored a goal in the win. Case Griffeth and Parks Cowdell each added an assist. Mortensen added an assist to go with his seventh shutout.
On Wednesday, the Dinos will welcome the Richfield Wildcats to Carbon High. After winning on March 21, the Dinos will be looking for the season sweep.
