The Carbon boys’ volleyball squad collected its 13th win this season on Tuesday night when they welcomed the Judge Memorial Bulldogs to Jurassic Park. The Match would go four sets, but the Dinos were able to gather the region win 3-1.

Carbon has almost doubled its win total from last year, when it went 8-18 overall. This season, it is 13-7 and 6-2 in league play. It has also cracked the top five in the latest RPI rankings. They have four matches left until the regular season ends on April 29. On April 30, the final rankings and the bracket for the State Championships will be released, and postseason play will start May 3.

Dinos found a win in the first set with a 25-17 score, but the Bulldogs returned in set two to even things up 25-18. Carbon’s defense took over in set three, gathering a 25-10 win. The fourth and final set was a battle, as it seemed that we might be heading for a fifth set. Carbon, however, was able to earn the win 25- 21.

Charles Tima gathered eight kills, five digs, and three service aces for Carbon. Kyler Orth had an impressive 20 kills and a pair of digs. Evan Lancaster had 11 kills along with his six digs, and Connor Gleave and Grant Mathis each had 17 assists in the win.

The Dinos will have another home match on Thursday when they welcome the Providence Hall Patriots.

Game time is set for 6:30 p.m..
