
The boy’s volleyball team at Carbon is coming into its own in the second season. On Thursday evening, they welcomed in the region foe the Providence Hall Patriots. The Dinos didn’t disappoint the home crowd at Jurassic Park with a straight set win.
Carbon is 14-7 overall and 7-2 in 3A Region 2. However, they slipped back one spot in the RPI to No. 6, with three contests left before the end of the regular season.
The Dinos came out and made it through the first two sets relatively easily, taking both with the same 25-15 score. They let the Patriots hang around in the third set, but could still close them out 25-23.
Carter Warburton collected 10 kills in the contest to accompany his 10 digs for Carbon. Charles Tima had 11 digs, seven kills, and four service aces. Grant Mathis had 17 assists, and Connor Gleave had 10.
The Dinos have three matches left in the regular season. On April 21, they will face American Heritage (11-8, No. 7). Then, they will play their final home game on April 22 against Juab (10-5, No. 4). The season ends on April 29 at North Sanpete (14-9, No. 5).
The match with American Heritage will begin at 6:30 p.m..
