
On Thursday, the Lady Dinos traveled to Roosevelt to take on the Union Cougars. This was a non-region contest, but this close to the end of the season, every game counts, and Carbon lost 10-0 to the Cougars.
Carbon slips to 6-14 with the loss and sits in the No. 10 spot in the RPI. There are six games left in the regular season, which ends on April 29. The next day, the final RPI and bracket for the State Championships that will start on May 3.
Union got on the board in the second inning, scoring five runs, then continued to put runs on the board, and they kept Carbon off the board. Junior Haylee Moynier was pitching for the Cougars and surrendered just one hit to the Lady Dinos.
Alexa Jones collected the lone hit for Carbon, a single to left in the opening at-bat of the game.
Kadence Vea started in the circle for Carbon, going 3.1, giving up nine runs, five earned on five hits, and striking out two. Sage Vea closed out the game with one run and one hit.
Carbon will have its final home game on Friday when it hosts Providence Hall on Senior Night.
