The Dinos are winding down the season, and on Friday, they closed out their series against Manti. On Tuesday, the Templars welcomed Carbon to Manti, handing them a loss. So on  Friday, Carbon was looking to split the series, and they were successful with the 4-0 win.

Carbon sits at 7-12 overall and holds the No. 12 spot in the latest RPI. Four games remain this season, a pair of two-game sets with Juab and Emery. The season closes on May 5, and on May 6, the final RPI and the bracket for the State Championships will be released. The postseason starts on May 8.

Neither team could find any offense early in the contest, as it would remain scoreless until the bottom of the fourth, when Kanon Childs stepped to the plate and hit a single to center, driving in Tyrus Madsen to put Carbon on the board. Moving into the fifth, the Dinos would score again off of a Maddex Willson single to center that would give Logan Bennett the chance to score. Carbon also added a pair of runs in the sixth, from a Paxton Falk double to left that drove in Cash Withers and Brody Ware to push the score to 4-0.  Manti had a short-lived rally attempt in the seventh, but the Dinos held on for the win.

Childs was 2-3 at the plate with an RBI, Falk went 1-3 with a pair of RBIs, and Madsen was 1-3 with a run scored.

Willson got the complete game win, giving up three hits while striking out three.
