The wait is almost over as the Eastern Utah Tattoo Expo rapidly approaches its start date of Friday, April 25. To celebrate, Limitless Ink Tattoo Shop owner and expo founder Jeff Holdaway joined the KOAL Newsroom to discuss the ins and outs of the event.
“We’ve received a lot of support from the tattoo community as always,” said Holdaway. “So there’s quite a few artists from all over with various styles coming down… I’m excited and overwhelmed, but it aims to be a good time.”
Holdway’s excitement is a sentiment that echoes across the community,” there’s been a lot of positive feedback. There are a lot of people who have really started to look forward to it as it comes around every year. So that gets us even more excited. There’s a few vendors that are showing up that sell various goods, handmade crafts, stuff like that. So they’ll be in attendance as well.”
As with any significant event, sponsors are a necessity. Luckily, the Eastern Utah Tattoo Expo has them in spades,” I’m going to shout out to Alan with Fifth Avenue Tattoo Studio Supplies. He’s our vendor every year, so it’s always great to have him involved. The world of tattoos from the outside seems intimidating, but the expo looks to breakdown the negative stigma surrounding the art. “This event has changed a lot of perspectives for those that have attended. Whether they’ve received a tattoo or just came to check it out and get a feel for it, And a lot of people have realized that stigma doesn’t stick anymore.”
In closing, Holdaway shared,” We’re all looking forward to seeing everybody there.”
The Eastern Utah Tattoo Expo will be held at the Carbon County Events Center from Friday, April 25, through Sunday, April 27. Tickets for the event are available at the door for $10, and children 12 and under are admitted for free. More information is available at easternutahexpo.com.
