The Utah High School Activities Association released the final RPI for 3A softball on Wednesday morning, and the Lady Dinos are in the No. 9 spot. Carbon will square up with No. 8 North Sanpete in Grantsville on Saturday.

Carbon finished the season on Tuesday with a win over Gunnison, moving the Lady Dinos to 12-14 overall and 8-6 in Region 12 play.  Their opponent, North Sanpete, is very familiar to Carbon. A member of Region 12, the two teams split the season series as each team won on the other’s field.

The first meeting happened on March 19 in Price, where the Hawks held the Dinos off the board to take the 7-0 win.

In the second game on April 8, Carbon scored five runs in two innings and, thanks to a 19-strikeout performance from Danica Adams, held the Hawks to just one run. Alexa Jones was 1-2 with a run and an RBI for Carbon. Kennlee Kennedy was 1-3 with a pair of RBIs, and Aleece Ardohain was 1-2 and scored a run in the 5-1 Carbon win.

The Lady Dinos will face the Hawks Saturday in Grantsville at 3:00 p.m. If they win, they will advance to face the winner of the No. 1 Grantsville, Ben Lomond/Judge Memorial game, when the playoffs continue this time in Spanish Fork on May 8.
