
Lil Reid, lifelong resident of California, age 79, passed away on April 6, 2025 in Phoenix, Arizona after a short illness.
Lil was born on August 18, 1945 in Price, Utah to parents, Edward Jackson and June Phyllis Schade Jackson. She grew up in Carbon County and graduated from Carbon High School in 1963.
Lil was married to Ralph Jensen in February of 1966. He preceded her in death in 1968. She later married Hugh Michael Reid in March of 1971. He preceded her in death in 1998.
She worked for the Southern California Gas Company for over twenty years. She started first as a secretary and later became a gas technician. Lil retired in 1993.
Lil loved the desert and warm weather. She was a generous and kindhearted woman who would help others in anyway she could. She enjoyed reading, NASCAR, traveling, playing crossword and sudoku puzzles, and spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her nieces, Corrina Madill (Price, Utah), Allison Strakey (Murray, Utah), Monique Lettas (Ballantine, Montana), and Ariane Ouderkirk (Murray, Utah); nephew, Ansen Strakey (West Point, Utah); and many great-nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Edward and June Jackson; each of her husbands; and her sisters, Minnie Hampton and Anne Strakey.
Memorial Service, Friday, May 30, 2025, 12:00 (noon), Mitchell Funeral Home (233 East Main Street) in Price. The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. – 12:00 (noon) prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Huntington City Cemetery.
