With May being celebrated as Mental Health Awareness Month, the time was right to announce a new collaboration between the Autofarm group, Blue Diamond GM and the Hope Squad of Carbon, Emery and Grand counties. The ‘Drive with Hope’ promotion provides a donation to the Hope Squad with every vehicle purchase at an Autofarm or Blue Diamond dealership.
“It just made sense for us to partner up with the HOPE Squad of Carbon, Emery and Grand Counties to do more than just sell cars,” said General Manager Tyson Clark. “The goal of the campaign is just to bring suicide prevention awareness to all of us in our community, and just get more involved with everybody. Also, with the sale of every vehicle, we’re going to donate to the Hope Squad.”
Speaking for the Hope Squad, Amanda McIntosh described some programs these donations would help fund: “We try to use those funds as responsibly as possible. We use them for people in our community right here in Carbon, Emery, and Grand County who are seeking mental health services or need help with finding resources statewide.”
She continued,” So what the donations will go to is something like our summer youth social media campaign coming up in July, where students aged 12 to 18 will come and participate in a workshop. They will learn trending marketing skills and also learn about mental health services, and then they will create their own social media campaign.”
Closing her remarks, McIntosh stated,” This money really is coming back into the community and going toward helping give a voice to those who are facing mental health challenges or who need extra help in the community.”
Before snapping the ribbon to launch the campaign officially, Clark shared,” I just want to let everyone know that our team is fully behind us,” before bringing down the scissors, slicing the ribbon in two.
Autofarm has locations at 811 Westwood Blvd and 354 S HWY 55 in Price. Blue Diamond GM is found at 1355 S Carbon Ave in Price. More information on the Hope Squad is available online through the organization’s Facebook page.
