Helen Jean Wallace, daughter of John I. & Ella Stagg, originally from Price, Utah, passed away Wednesday, May 7th, 2025 in Springville, Utah. Helen grew up in Price with 3 sisters (LaRene, Shirley & Elizabeth).  She graduated from Carbon High School and was hired by  Zion’s Bank. She married Gerald John Wallace of Clear Creek, Utah.  They had two sons (Guy William & John Blake) who were born in Clear Creek!

They soon moved back to Price where both Helen and Jerry worked for the Utah Dept. of Transportation.  A daughter, Shaney Lynn, soon joined the family. They enjoyed raising and riding horses, and participated in many local rodeos.

Later, Helen moved to Salt Lake City where she continued to work for the State at the Capitol in the finance department.  A life changing auto accident caused her to retire and she eventually moved to Monticello where she was near her son, Guy.

Helen’s joy in life was visiting and spending time with family and her 8 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters (LaRene Holly & Shirley Thomas), and her son, John Blake Wallace.

Graveside service will be held Wednesday, May 14th, 2025, 1:00 p.m., at the Price City Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price and Huntington where friends and family are always welcome daily and may share memories of Helen online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net.
