Athletic Director Ted Bianco announced on Thursday afternoon that Nick Milovich will be the next head coach of the Carbon High School football program.

“I’m thrilled to be able to step into this role and give back to the community that has given me so much,” said Milovich. “I love Carbon High School and this community. I want the players that come through the program to be proud of where they are from and proud to play for Carbon.”

Milovich, 35, served as the head football coach at Helper Middle School during the previous football season. He currently teaches business and marketing at Carbon High School.

A Carbon County native, Milovich graduated from Carbon High School in 2007. He completed his college education at Utah State University and joined the Carbon faculty in 2018.

Upon accepting a teaching position at Carbon, Milovich immediately became part of the football program, serving as an assistant under former head coach Josh Huntsman. He later became the offensive coordinator under former coach Phil Howa, before accepting the head coaching job at Helper last season.

Milovich will be the Dinos’ third coach in as many seasons. He takes over for Bradon Rushton, who resigned last month after one season at the helm.

The next step will be for Milovich to fill out his coaching staff, which he hopes to name within the next. He will be a guest on KOAL’s Drive Time Sports on Thursday, May 22.
