obits-1744

Our loving husband, son, brother, father, and uncle, Raymond H Telarole, left this mortal existence on May 20, 2025.  He was born in Price, Utah, to Raymond V. Telarole and Alda Lois Cotten on October 21, 1954, the first of two children.  He attended elementary and middle school in Helper, then graduated from Carbon High School in Price, Utah, in 1974. Ray graduated from St Thomas Seminary in Denver, Colorado, in 1978 with a B.A. in Religious Studies.

Ray returned home to Helper to work for Utah Power & Light in 1979, working up to the position of Operations Training Instructor at the Hunter Power Plant.  On April 16, 1983, Ray married Jana Rigby. They moved to Lockport, NY, in 1985, so that Ray could work with General Physics Corporation. Ray was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis that same year.  He and Jana had two children, Lauren in 1986 and Bryan in 1989.

In 1989, Ray worked with the New York Power Authority as Manager of Technical Training in Pleasant Valley, New York.  He attained his master’s degree in business administration in 1999.

Ray and Jana divorced in 2001.

His bout with MS caused his health to decline to the point of having to stop working for NYPA, and he became disabled.

Ray returned to Carbon County, Utah, in 2002 and eventually became reacquainted with the love of his life, Laurie (Kos) Yelonek.  They had been friends for over 50 years, having met for the first time on a blind date.  God had quite a lifelong plan for the two of them. They married later in life on February 16, 2005, and had many happy years together. Even though they both had health challenges, they always supported each other through them.

Ray is survived by his two children, Lauren Telarole (William Kitchen, grandson Jakobi) and Bryan (Cydney) Telarole; mother, Alda Lois Telarole Wall; sister, Shauna and brother-in-law, David O’Brien; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Scott and Susie Kos; sister-in-law, Dawn Kos; and nieces, nephews, and many wonderful friends.

Ray’s death was preceded by his father and his wife, Laurie.

Rays’ family would like to thank the owners and staff for the tender, loving care he received at the Heirloom Inn during his time there.  They would also like to thank Symbii Home Health, Dr. Glenn Etzel, and Dr. Jonathan Galli for their excellent care of Raymond.

Rays’ remains will be handled through Mitchell Funeral Home in Price, and interment of his ashes will be at Mt. View Cemetery near his loved ones who preceded him in death.  Our family would also like to thank Mitchell Funeral Home, especially Gage, for their tender, professional care during this tough time.

A memorial graveside service to celebrate Ray’s life will be on Thursday, May 29, 2025, 11:00 a.m., at the Mt. View Cemetery in Helper, Utah. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Price Chapel, where Ray and Laurie attended as members for the last years of their lives.  Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price and Huntington where friends are always welcome daily and may share memories of Ray online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net
